NOTE: 250 words is approximately one page of double-spaced, 12-point type. Word counts are generally exclusive of bibliography and we generally do not edit the bibliography section of your manuscript. Upon request we can edit the bibliography, match text references to citations, format the citations as per the publisher's requirements, and verify the citations via PubMed.
Light editing consists of proofreading for errors in spelling and grammar. The submitted document is already a fairly polished draft, with good language usage and no major structural problems.
Normal editing consists of proofreading as above, with additional correction of organizational and structural problems. The submitted document is a complete, properly formatted draft that has already been through revision, but is not ready for submission to a publisher.
Heavy editing is generally required for documents composed by authors who have difficulty with written English or who don't wish to spend the time to polish and properly format their documents. The document is organized and complete as to content, but is in need of substantial revision and formatting.
If you are unsure what level of editing your document requires, you may submit a one-page sample and we will assess your needs at no charge.
Abstracts, due to the inherent difficulties posed by their concentrated content and brevity, are generally billed at a rate of $40 per 250-word abstract.
Letters, applications and other correspondence will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending upon time requirements.
Technical reports, manuals and instructions will also be assessed on an individual basis, depending on the nature of the submitted materials and the requirements for the finished document.
Lengthy documents (books, book chapters, dissertations, theses, etc.) will require partial payment before work commences. Payments and payment schedules will be negotiated upon submission.
If you would like us to make reviewer-type comments on content, we can only do so if one of the available staff is qualified to make such comments. The cost of this service is negotiable. Any comments we make only reflect the opinions of the editor, and you as the author are free to use them as you wish.We can not accept responsibility for any negative actions or results stemming from the use of our comments.
Rush jobs can sometimes be accommodated and are subject to a 40% (normally about $8-10 per page) surcharge.
When you submit a document to us, we will determine the time required to edit your document and provide you with a price quote prior to starting the editing process.
All that being said, we are just regular people, not a big corporation. We are flexible, and we will work with you any way we can. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.
